Traditional Irish Scones
These very simple but very delicious scone are made with the addition of raisins. For those of you who do not enjoy raisins, you may order them plain. They are best served with your preference of jam and whipped cream. My favorite is when they are a day old and a good helping of Irish butter, a nice warm cup of tea a cozy blanket and I'm set for a chilly winter's day.
eight scones: $24
Wheaten Scones
Made with the finest ingredients. Whole wheat, all purpose flour, bran, wheatgerm, flax meal, walnuts, pumpkins seeds and sunflower seeds, milk and eggs. Topped with oatmeal and sea salt. Serve these with soup or poached egg with smoked salmon. Delicious! These can only be purchased already baked.
eight scones: $24
Apple Cake
This classic Irish Apple Cake may seem humble but it is a diamond in the rough. Somewhere a cross between an American coffee cake and an apple pie. Every time I am leaving home and all my bags are checked in at Dublin Airport, I buy a coffee and a slice of Apple cake with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. I hope you get to enjoy this tasty treasure.
7 inch round: $18
6 inch round: $15
Tea Brack
Tea brack — a.k.a. Irish Freckle Bread — is a moist, close-grained, packed-with-fruit breakfast bread. Based on Ireland's classic yeasted barm brack, this quicker version is just as popular in that country. Like the original Irish tea brack, though, the fruit is soaked in brewed tea and (a wee drop of the good stuff), which is the bread's only liquid.. Once again, put plenty of Irish butter on this very tasty delight.
*CONTAINS NUTS!!!
$28
May God grant you always a sunbeam to warm you, a moonbeam to charm you, a sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you. Laughter to cheer you, faithful friends near you And whenever you pray, Heaven to hear you.
